  • Deacons

The deacons are the care ministry of East Main Church. They serve the congregation through prayer, visitation, phone calls, funeral dinners, welcoming new babies, and many other ways. They meet monthly to connect, pray and plan. Deacons are elected officers who are publicly installed and vow to serve in the manner described and following the polity of ECO while most importantly being a consistent Jesus follower.  It's an honor to be elected and trusted for this role.

    Description of an Elder

The session (group of elders) of East Main is the mission and vision team.  They are tasked with keeping the church on its mission and supporting ministry in that vein.  They make decisions, support staff and ministries, and challenge the status quo in order to keep East main effectively reaching the community and upholding East Main's values. They meet approximately every other month (based on group availability) rotating between 3 hour meetings and 1.5 hour meetings each time. Elders are elected officers who are publicly installed and vow to serve in the manner described and following the polity of ECO while most importantly being a consistent Jesus follower.  It's an honor to be elected and trusted for this role.
