East Main Deacon Ministry

The deacons are the care ministry of East Main Church. They serve the congregation through prayer, visitation, phone calls, funeral dinners, welcoming new babies, and many other ways. They meet monthly to connect, pray and plan.

  • Visits to anyone admitted to the local hospital.

  • Meals are provided (short term) and delivered to those who are ill or recovering from surgery or other difficulties.

  • Gifts and a meal are provided to families for the birth of a baby.

  • Visits each month to attendees and friends who are homebound, disabled, widowed, bereaved, or anyone who requests a visit.

  • Blankets are handmade, prayed over, and given to those who are hospitalized or recovering from illness or injury at home.

  • A dinner celebration is given every 3-5 years to recognize seniors 80 years or older.

  • Rides are provided for parishioners who have doctor or hospital appointments locally and as far as Pittsburgh.

  • Christmas and Easter flowers are delivered to parishioners who are homebound or ill.

  • Funeral meals are provided at the church for families or friends of someone associated with East Main who has passed.

  • Wheelchairs, walkers, and other healthcare equipment are available to those in need.

  • Greeting cards are sent to attendees and friends who are celebrating milestones, need encouragement, or are grieving.
