    1. Read through a book of the Bible a paragraph or two  at a time asking focused questions on the passage.
    2. Moody Bible Institute's Today in the Word. It includes a different section of Scripture or Biblical theme each month. This devotional contains a short section from Scripture, a written reflection by a Moody professor and a prayer prompt.
    3. Daily Hope by Rick Warren.  Short, not too deep, very practical.  An audio  version is available as well as an online text.
  • Pastor Melissa Danielson

Daily Inspiration for the Purpose Driven Life: Scriptures and Reflections from the 40 Days of Purpose. This book is designed to be used as a convenient standalone book for daily reflection.  I'll be reading it with my family this summer.

  • Luke Fugate

Mornings and Evenings by Charles Spurgeon (updated by Alistair Begg).
Good for digestible nuggets of Scripture and applicable commentary. 730 devotions for two, twice a day, every day!

  • Teresa Glasgow

Bedtime Devotions with Jesus: My Daily Devotional for Kids. This is a great bedtime devotional for small children (approximately 8 years of age and under).

  • Corrie Brown

The Bible ProjectThey have a multitude of resources, a great app, and their videos are very popular, well done and kid-friendly. However, my most favorite thing they do is their podcast. Two guys (a Bible nerd and a more skeptical-minded Christian) read and work through themes and books of the Bible. I appreciate the depth they go into, the cultural setting they uncover, and the literary styles they explain. Since the Bible is ancient literature and very different from the communication of our day, I'm glad to have their help to uncover its richness. It has been my #1 spiritual formation tool ever, aside from the Bible.

Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. My go-to for years has been "Jesus Calling". However, I know there can be mixed opinions about it. I didn't like it all when it first came out. Then for some reason I gave it another chance years later and have loved it ever since.
