What is IJM?

IJM stands for International Justice Mission and works around the globe to help those who are enslaved in human trafficking. For over 25yrs, they have been working with local governments and law enforcement to seek out human trafficking organizations, make arrests, rescue victims, and help victims on the road to recovery. They have directly and indirectly helped over 150,000,000 families with over 45,000 rescues.

What Is Freedom Fast?

We at East Main believe that we are to serve others because Jesus served. Over the course of the next month, we are encouraging students and participants to fundraise towards IJM’s cause. Starting this Wednesday, students will receive a link to an online fundraising page where they can set up their account and begin sharing their IJM information to those willing to donate. Last year, over 40 participants raised over $17,000 this way! ALL DONATIONS go towards the IJM Fund.

The culmination of this fundraiser will be our Freedom Fast, the weekend of March 18-19. This event will be an overnight, 30hr Fast (encouraged, but not necessary for participation) and will be a time for students to serve on various service projects, participate in exciting activities, and learn more about human trafficking’s effects and the unique Christian response to it.
