Women's Ministry Service

Service at East Main is varied and vibrant. We have opportunities to volunteer within our church ministries to support children, youth, families, and other sisters in Christ within our congregation.

We are active within the Grove City community to support the Food Pantry as well as other organizations that support women and their unique needs.

Women's Ministry also strives to bless women across the globe through various missionaries and groups supported by our church.

We also work hand-in-hand with Days for Girls, which is a global organization that works not only to put an end to period poverty but also seeks to equip and empower all women, both here in the USA and worldwide, to live their best lives.

Explore below and on our East Main Women facebook page to see where you might want to use your time and talents to bless others with the love of Christ!

  • Widows Luncheons are scheduled throughout the year at noon on Sunday October 23 in Fellowship Hall.  Women's Ministry provides a festive atmosphere and good food for the ladies to enjoy while they fellowship together. We are looking for people to prepare decorations for the tables, prepare food, and to serve the food; you can volunteer for one or multiple luncheons. This is a great event to include kids in the service and preparation! Contact us at womensministry@eastmainpc.org.

Days for Girls Grove City Team

Women's Ministry is a partner with the Days for Girls Grove City Team, which sews menstrual hygiene kits for women in need here at home and around the globe. Days for Girls International has been working for 14+ years to equip girls and women with knowledge about their health as well as opening doors for them to continue their schooling and to make an impact in their communities. Days for Girls also supports local enterprises with supplies and resources so that women across the world can make menstrual hygiene kits for their communities as well.

Days for Girls GC Team welcomes anyone to come help assemble the different components of these kits; no sewing or particular skills are necessary to participate. We currently meet on the 1st Monday of each month in Fellowship Hall from 9:30 am-2:30 pm. Stay for as long as you want and bring a bagged lunch for the lunch break. Our local DfG Team works with the East Main youth group as well as partners with many women within our area to meet the needs of girls and women around the world. For more information and for ways to donate and/or opportunities to work with DfG, visit their Days for Girls Grove City Facebook page or contact Team Leader Ruth Magee at grovecitypa@daysforgirls.org.

Other Local & Global Mission Opportunities

In support of our communities at home, our Women's Ministry, in conjunction with our local DfG team, sewed thousands of face masks during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, gave menstrual kits to Erie City Mission and the Philadelphia Menstrual Hub, and made five flannel quilts to Aware of Mercer County, a domestic abuse shelter.

Women's Ministry also gave all proceeds from East Main's Christmas Stroll Cookie and Craft Sale to Aware . See the picture below of all the sweet treats featured in the sale!
